Pittsburgh, PA-Chatham University announced today that Frozen Pond Arena will be the home rink of the new, men's ice hockey team beginning with their inaugural season in the fall of 2017. The rink is located minutes from Chatham's Eden Hall Campus in Richland, PA and approximately 35 minutes from Chatham's Shadyside Campus.
The men's ice hockey team will practice and play all home games at the Frozen Pond, and will be the first DIII men's ice hockey team in Pittsburgh, and only the fourth program across the entire state when the Cougars take the ice this fall. The team is coached by Michael Callan.
The Frozen Pond Arena amenities include: 200' x 85' arena dasher boards and glass, LED high efficiency/illumination lighting, new flooring throughout the arena, a new wireless LED scoreboard and a new arena public address and audio sound system. The Cougars will also have access to a soon-to-be built locker room for exclusive use by the team, which will include: player stalls, audio/video/Wi-Fi capabilities, a trainer's room, and a skate room with a sharpener and storage area. Plans for an off-ice training area and weight room are also in the works.

I look forward to kicking off the inaugural season in 2017-18 at the Frozen Pond."
