Women: Third NCAA regional rankings released

Compiled by D3hockey.com Staff --

The NCAA released its third set of women's regional rankings on Tuesday and something has changed at the top as Plattsburgh State still sits at No. 1 in the East Region while Adrian now holds the same spot in the West.

This week's East rankings experienced very little movement overall as in the East the top five teams remained the same while Utica now holds the No. 6 position, a spot claimed by Connecticut College a week ago.

In the West, the same six teams remain ranked though the top two flipped, and Augsburg and Lake Forest switched positions relative to last week as the Auggies climbed to No. 4 while the Foresters fell to No. 6

Used to determine both NCAA tournament bids and seedings, this week's rankings are the third of three sets that will be released to the public.  The final rankings generated on March 5 will not be released to the public.   The numbers used by the regional committees to generate these rankings are sometimes made available to the public.
