OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State women's ice hockey team fell, 2-1, to Buffalo State on Sunday afternoon to split the weekend series. With the loss, the Lakers move to 3-2 overall and an even 1-1 in conference play, while the Bengals improve to 2-4 on the season and 2-2 in NEWHL games.

The Lakers scored their lone goal with just under three minutes left in the first period. Kate Randazzo put the puck near the net for Andrea Noss, who was able to stuff it past the Bengal goalie. The goal was Noss's first of the season, while Randazzo's assist was her team-leading fifth assist. Olivia Ellis, who notched a goal and an assist in the Lakers' 3-0 shutout of Buffalo State the day before, also collected an assist off of Noss's goal.

Goalie Mariah Madrigal made 19 saves in the net for Oswego. The senior's saves bring her total to 106 in five games so far this season.

Oswego outshot Buffalo State 26 to 21 during the game, and won 37 face-offs compared to the Bengals' 23.

The Lakers will be back on the ice for more NEWHL action when they face Plattsburgh at 3 p.m. on the road on Saturday and Sunday.
