OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State women's ice hockey team defeated Potsdam, 4-1, at home on Friday night. With the win, the Lakers improve to an even 7-7-0 on the season and 4-3-0 in NEWHL play, while Potsdam falls to 8-5-1 overall and 1-5-1 in conference action.

Andrea Noss, who was coming off of a one-goal, two-assist game against Utica, set the tone for the Lakers. Less than five minutes into the game, the senior scored Oswego's first goal, assisted by Julieann White. Noss was at it again just under 14 minutes into the first period. This time, the senior was assisted by classmate Olivia Ellis.

Ellis was able to extend the Laker lead in the second period, tacking on the third goal of the night. The Wilcox, Sask. native moved into first place on the Lakers in points with the goal, with 11 points so far this season. Philomena Teggart collected an assist on the goal.

After Potsdam managed to score 15 minutes into the second period, the Lakers answered less than two minutes later for the game's final goal. Natalie Giglio netted Oswego's fourth goal, while White notched her second assist of the game.

Mariah Madrigal played all 60 minutes in the net for the Lakers, earning her fourth win of the season. The senior made 16 saves against the Bears.

Oswego will hit the ice again at 6 p.m. on Sunday at Potsdam. The game, which was previously scheduled for Saturday, has been moved due to weather concerns.
