Hartford, Conn. - The visiting Endicott College Gulls scored three times in the third period to pull away from the Trinity College Bantams in women's ice hockey action this afternoon at Williams Rink in the Koeppel Community Sports Center.  Trinity drops to 7-6-1 with its second setback in a row, while the Gulls improve to 9-3-4.  Trinity hits the road tonight for a 1 p.m. game at No. 4-ranked Norwich tomorrow, while the Gulls host Castleton on Tuesday, January 22 at 7 p.m. in their next game.

Endicott never trailed, scoring the first goal of the game 9:51 into the first period on a goal by freshman forward Jacy Kuhlman (Severna Park, Md.) with an assist by classmate Courtney Sullivan (North Yarmouth, Maine).  Trinity nearly tied the game with 7:40 left in the first period, but Endicott junior netminder Alyssa Peterson (Cranberry, Pa.) made a save against first-year forward Ellie Fellows (Westport, Mass.) on a rebound attempt of a blocked shot.  Peterson came up big one-one-one against Bantam sophomore Sierra Lee (Ferguson's Cove, Nova Scotia) moments later to keep the Bantams off the board in the first period.

The Bantams came out strong in the middle frame, outshooting the Gulls, 15-6, and tying the score at 1-1 on a breakaway goal by first-year forward Cassidy McNeeley (Easton, Mass.).  McNeeley beat Peterson on a breakaway after a pass ahead by sophomore defender Julia Lee (Ferguson's Cove, Nova Scotia) just 3:38 into the second period.  The Gulls killed off overlapping penalties for nearly three minutes at the end of the second period and early in the third, as Peterson made five saves to preserve the tie.

Endicott senior forward Lexi Klein (Shoreview, Minn.) potted the game-winner from junior forwards Michaela McNamara (Warwick, R.I.) and Jillian Gibbs (Burlington, Vt.) 6:07 into the final stanza, and McNamara fed sophomore forward Ashlie Jones (Billerica, Mass.) on an insurance goal 10 minutes later.  The Gulls added an empty-netter from Jones to Sullivan in the final two minutes.  Trinity junior goaltender Kai-Lilly Karpman (Playa del Ray, Calif.) finished with 18 saves, while Peterson had 31 stops for the Gulls.
